It is our pleasure to invite you to the 20th annual Commerce and Engineering Environmental Conference (CEEC) taking place in Kingston, Ontario, from March 5th-6th, 2010. CEEC is a unique event presented through a partnership between the Queen’s School of Business and the Queen’s Faculty of Applied Science. The conference welcomes both internal (Queen’s University) and external (universities across Canada) delegates. Each year, CEEC brings together the brightest 130 students studying Commerce, Engineering, and Arts and Science to face the ever-growing challenges and opportunities of environmental sustainability.
This year’s theme, Exploring the Green Advantage, encourages and celebrates the change that individuals and corporations have made in the past two decades. As CEEC enters its 20th anniversary, we hope to bring together sponsors, speakers, delegates and academics alike to revaluate the past, celebrate the present and prepare for the future.
You can view our most revised CEEC itinerary here. Please click here, if you are an external delegate and need accommodation in Kingston. In addition, you can view our delegates package (large file) by clicking here.
The Green Globe Awards are given to an individual or a group of people who have had a positive impact with their environmental initiatives, either on the Queen’s campus or within the Kingston community. Click here to access the PDF nomination form and nominate who you think should win!

The Commerce and Engineering Environmental Conference is Canada’s leading undergraduate sustainability initiative.
Our History
The Commerce Engineering Environmental Conference was started in 1991 by a group of students from the Queen’s School of Business and the Faculty of Applied Science who realized that the environmental issues challenging our lifestyle would require a multidisciplinary response. By providing an open forum for discussion and the exchange of ideas, CEEC aims to educate people about the impact of our decisions on economic, environmental, and social factors.
Speakers at the conference come from a broad range of backgrounds including large and small businesses, government agencies, academia, and various citizen groups. They lead a forum in which students discuss the challenges they will face in their careers and where opportunities can arise from these challenges.
Every idea has a starting point. What begins on the back of an envelope can evolve and grow into something that shakes the world. As students, citizens, and stakeholders in the future of our planet, we thank you for addressing our most pressing challenges.

This is what, Mike Lees, an LLB/MBA student thought about his exposure to CEEC:
“CEEC is an amazing opportunity to gain exposure to the Green sector. Whether you are in engineering, commerce, or any other subject, CEEC provides a forum to advance your Green initiative. Meet leaders in the Green field, and establish your network, and exchange Green ideas.”
Here is what, Jordan Black, a chemical engineering student had to say about CEEC:
“As an engineering student with an interest in business, attending CEEC was an amazing experience. Throughout the weekend, we heard from innovative thinkers and leaders in green industries, who seemed as excited to share their ideas as I was to hear them. But beyond just listening, we also had the opportunity to actively engage with these concepts and further explore their potential with a host of motivated delegates from various backgrounds. These discussions were both exciting and inspiring, and I look forward to continuing them at CEEC 2010.”
